Due to strong winds in Rhodes, Israir had to land today (Wednesday) on the island of Kos instead of Rhodes.
The company’s plane with about 180 passengers took off this morning from Tel Aviv and as mentioned was diverted to land on the island of Kos due to the severe weather conditions that did not allow landing on the island.
Hila Hermolin Ronan, Israir’s VP of Marketing and Sales, said in response: “Israir flight number 517 to Rhodes that took off this morning from Tel Aviv was diverted to the island of Kos due to strong winds in Rhodes that did not allow landing. In light of the difficult weather conditions, the plane took off with the passengers back to Israel and this flight is currently scheduled for tomorrow morning. If the weather conditions improve, some of the passengers from Rhodes will return today and some tomorrow. Israir gave those who stayed an extra night at the hotel. Passenger safety and security are the company’s top priority.’
