It is no longer possible to make an appointment to receive the COVID 19 vaccine at the Moulins hospital. In fact, the hospital center does not have sufficient doses to provide both the first and the second injections. These are the ones that will be delivered in the coming days: “We have to deal with the stocks delivered to us and many centers in France have been impacted by the delivery delays, in particular of the Pfizer vaccine. We made the choice to prioritize the second injections. We don’t stop vaccinating, we stop vaccinating new people and we don’t make additional appointments ”, explains Fabien Amengual-Serra, secretary general of the Moulins hospital. He said the center continues to vaccinate the same number of people every day, around a hundred.

An open waiting list
The appointments already made have been maintained and, for the time being, none have been postponed. “Since the beginning of the month, we have done more than 1,500 vaccines at the Moulins hospital”, specifies Fabien Amengual-Serra. For the moment, it is not known when appointments will be possible again, but people who wish can be placed on waiting lists, until new slots are opened. “We have set up a waiting file which means that when we can reopen places again, many people will be able to fill them. », Explains Fabien Amengual-Serra, “With us, we realize that every dose counts. “ The center has around 600 doses to distribute per week.

Allier is, for the moment, the department of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes having carried out the most vaccines in proportion to its population. “We would have no material or personnel problem to receive more people, it’s really a question of doses. We have a vaccination center which is open year round with 2 nurses and a very experienced doctor. There, we have stepped up, but the basic workforce is there. We called on retired people who were very motivated ”, says Fabien Amengual-Serra. The establishment receives 3,900 doses of the vaccine each week, which are then distributed throughout the Allier department. By rounding off, around a thousand doses are then distributed in the various basins of Vichy, Moulins and Montluçon, but also in the “Bourbonnette”, a traveling bus for vaccinating people who cannot travel.
