The 24-year-old native of Minsk was eliminated in Miami in the quarterfinals, where she unexpectedly lost to Romanian Sorana Cirstea twice 4:6. Before that, she eliminated, for example, Barbora Krejčíková or Maria Bouzková.
In addition to her triumph at the Australian Open, Sabalenková also dominated the January tournament in Adelaide, where she defeated Linda Nosková in the final.
