An older adult who was depressed tried to end his life by injuring himself several times on his left arm, for which he was treated by lifeguards from Cruz Verde Salvadoreña and taken to the San Bartolo National Hospital, department of San Salvador.
The emergency was reported this Saturday night in the Ticsa Bridge sector, located on the Carretera de Oro, in the jurisdiction of San Bartolo, San Salvador.
According to Cruz Verde lifeguards, the 73-year-old man was depressed due to a series of problems and for that reason he grabbed a machete to injure his left arm, as he sought to bleed to death.
As a first emergency response, the first responders proceeded to control the bleeding to stabilize the vital signs, and then take him to the San Bartolo National Hospital, where he would receive specialized care to treat the cuts.
