Roberts Uldriķis, striker of the Latvian national football team, came to the field on Thursday in the away match of the “Cambuur” team in Leeuwarden as a substitute in the won Dutch championship match, which was interrupted shortly before its end due to the arrival of the home crowd on the field. “Cambuur” defeated “Groningen” 1:0 (0:0) in a match between the two weakest teams in the championship.
Uldriķis entered the field in the 72nd minute, in the 77th minute Daniels van Kaam scored a goal for the visitors, but in the 86th minute the game was stopped because the home fans ran out onto the field. When the game resumed a moment later, the result did not change.
Now three teams have 12 points each. “Cambuur” with 12 points in 18 games has overtaken the last place “Groningen”, while “Volendam” is in 16th place with 12 points in 17 games. Two teams will leave the top league at the end of the season, but the winner of the 16th place will have to fight in the playoffs.
Last season, the team represented by Uldriķas took ninth place in the Dutch Superleague in the competition of 18 teams. The Latvian forward scored seven goals in 21 games, but this season he is yet to hit a goal.
