Dudh Sagar Trekking: Explore India’s Highest Waterfall with Jeep Safaris and Trekking Trails

EDoodh Sagar trekking is the dream of adventure tourists in India. This waterfall is located at a distance of 570 km from Bengaluru in Goa, near the border of Karnataka. Dudh Sagar, which had been suspended due to heavy monsoon, has reopened for tourists after a long time.

Jeep safaris to Dudh Sagar have also resumed, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation said. Tourists can book the jeep safari in advance. Booking for Doodh Sagar Trekking can now be done online. National media reported that the Tourism Corporation has signed an agreement with a private agency for online services of all waterfall-related activities.

Every year the Jeep Safari starts in the first week of October. Only jeeps with special permission from the forest department can go on safari through the forest. About 170 jeeps operate here on weekdays and 225 jeeps on weekends. Jeep Safari is a total distance of 14 km. A jeep can carry 7 people. 500 per person is charged for the safari. The jeep safari starts from Mollam. One hour can be spent at Dudh Sagar.

The waterfall is located in the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. This waterfall is situated at a height of 1017 feet on the Mandavi river. This is one of the highest waterfalls in India. The Madgaon-Belgaum railway passes near this waterfall. So if you travel through this route, you will see the beautiful view of Doodh Sagar Falls.

Castle Rock Route- A 14 km trek along the railway tracks. Can be completed in 6 hours. It is also possible to pass through several tunnels. Kullem Route-The waterfall is located at a distance of 11 km from Kullem railway station. Fewer travelers choose this trail as it overlooks Castle Rock. But you have to go through this route to get a picture of the train passing near Doodh Sagar. The duration of this trek is five hours.
