Duchess Kate was pleasantly accosted by the men of the crowd. Everything’s recorded. See how she reacted

Duchess Kate 31 January visited the city of Leeds, which is located in the north of England. All this to publicize the Shaping Us campaign, the theme of which is development child. A noble goal, but unfortunately it did not come without an unpleasant situation.

Duchess Kate heard lewd whistles

Ksina Kate while visiting West Yorkshire, she strolled through Leeds Kirkgate Market. There was a crowd, the subjects wanted to see his wife Prince William Live. Middleton was clearly in a good mood. Dressed in an elegant bottle green coat, she waved and smiled at people. Unfortunately, at some point characteristic whistles could be heard. A man in the crowd accosted the Duchess in this inelegant way. But she kept her class. She didn’t stop and pretended she hadn’t heard the whistles. The whole thing was recorded:

The characteristic whistles that can be heard on the recording are a manifestation of the so-called cat calling. What is cat calling? In the simplest terms, these are rude taunts, indiscriminate comments or men’s whistles at women in public places. Cat calling is not a compliment. In some countries, such as France and the Netherlands, women are protected by law. Men for such salacious whistles or indiscriminate comments are fined. Interestingly, in the UK a few weeks ago the first efforts were made to make cat calling a crime. As we read in the Daily Mail, Interior Minister Suella Braverman stressed that perpetrators who do not allow women “to feel safe” will suffer “the consequences they deserve”.

In Poland, the law does not protect women from cat calling. So how to defend against it? Sociologist Maciej Myśliwiec claims that women should react to provocations and show that they are not socially accepted. One tactic is to ridicule the insistent man. In an interview with naTemat.pl, the sociologist explains:

I know ladies who have no problem with answering such a guy something like “you can smack yourself, that’s all you can do”. Then the guy loses the respect of his colleagues because he was ridiculed by the woman he wanted to either impress or whom he wanted to objectify.

Do you think that in Poland the subject of cat calling will also be more widely discussed by politicians?
