Jakarta –
Marc Marquez has a bad record when defending Honda in the last two or three seasons. He often fell, failed to finish the race and ended up on the operating table. Ducati as his new team does not want to see Marquez do the same thing next season.
For the record, for two consecutive seasons, Marc Marquez was named the MotoGP racer who fell most often on the track. In the 2022 season, he had 18 accidents. Meanwhile in the 2023 season the figure will increase to 29 times.
“I hope (Marquez) races without accidents, I don’t really like contact, because it’s dangerous,” said Ducati Chief Executive, Claudio Domenicali, quoted from Marca, Saturday (20/1).
“From time to time, Marc is a little like that (often contact during races). But Jorge Martin is the same. In the last race of last season, Marc had a big accident, but Jorge was the one who triggered it. I think that’s dangerous,” he added.

According to Domenicali, carrying out extreme maneuvers or daring movements on the track is actually fine. However, once again, there are limitations that need to be adhered to. Because this action not only endangers other racers, but also yourself.
“In racing, there are limits and we have to pay attention to these limits. The important thing is that Race Direction can maintain the driver’s composure, if anyone exceeds the limit they will immediately be given sanctions,” he said.
In the end, he said, Marquez is a great racer with a wealth of experience. The figure nicknamed The Baby Alien must be able to set a good example to the audience and other racers.
“Champions, on the track, must be an example of how victory is achieved: hard, but honest and clean,” said Domenicali.
