Bola.net – Sporting Director of Ducati Corse, Paolo Ciabatti, stated that his party has no plans to form a special project for Marc Marquez in MotoGP, although the Spanish rider is sure to join via Gresini Racing. According to Ciabatti, it all depends on the course of the 2024 season.
Ducati Corse bosses do not deny that Marquez’s arrival could cause complications in maintaining harmony between their teams. Moreover, they have many strong young riders. They admit that they have to work extra hard to keep the competition healthy.
With Gresini, Marquez is not under a direct contract with Ducati Corse, and rides an old spec motorbike. Even so, many people believe his arrival could disrupt the balance in the Ducati teams, because he is expected to want to defend the Ducati Lenovo Team in 2025.

Wait for Marc Marquez Data

Past Sky Sport Italia, Saturday (28/10/2023), Ciabatti emphasized that Marquez’s arrival was not Ducati’s idea, but Gresini’s. As a result, Ducati did not prepare a special program for Marquez. In fact, it is Ducati who is looking forward to Marquez’s contribution.
“Marc is Gresini’s own choice, as we said in the final phase of their negotiations. An eight-time world champion is clearly attractive, also judging by the data he can present to us. The contract is only one year with no further option between him and Gresini,” he said.
Marquez has not ruled out the opportunity to return to Honda in 2025, but this intention could be postponed or even canceled if they remain slow in making progress. That way, there is a possibility for him to stay in the Ducati camp in 2025. That could no doubt be a golden opportunity for Ducati.

If Marquez turns out to stay at Ducati longer than expected, will ‘Bologna Bullet’ add technical support for him? Ciabatti did not rule out this possibility, but emphasized that his party had no intention of adding ammunition to its satellite teams.
“We’ll see throughout next season. Currently we don’t plan to increase the support that we always provide to satellite teams for valid reasons,” said the man from Italy.
“[Dengan dukungan yang ada di Gresini] Alex Marquez and Fabio at Giannantonio have been able to work well, and hopefully Diggia will get a place to stay in MotoGP. “Regarding Marc, we’ll see next season,” he concluded.
