Dubovská was twelfth in the slalom in Levi, Vlhová won

Dubovska confirmed that she is doing well in Levi and won the second best result in her career. After the first round she was thirteenth with a gap of 16 hundredths to the top ten. In the sum of both rounds, she lost 2.49 seconds to both slalom queens, who today made sure that even the 27th cup slalom in a row had no other winner than Vlh or Shiffrin.

The Slovak defender of the small crystal globe was the fastest in both rounds, while the second was built by her Italian coach Livio Magoni. In the first race she defeated the American rival by 15 hundredths, in the second only by three. “The second lap was already difficult. You are standing last on top and you want to confirm it. It’s already a sense of pressure. It wasn’t a perfect ride, but it worked out,” said Vlhová.

Shiffrin raced after ten months and exactly 300 days. After the sudden death of her father, she ended the season in January and treated her aching back at the start of the World Championships in October in Sölden. In the number of winning races, it remained at number 66. Vlhová now has fifteen triumphs.

“It’s a little crazy to be back after such a long time and all. But I’m glad I’m here,” Shiffrin said. They had no competition with Vlhová again and always one of them has been winning the slalom in the World Championships since January 2017. “Nothing has changed and at the same time everything has changed. It’s nice to see everyone skiing again,” she added.

Gabriela Capová took 51st place, the third Czech national team member Elese Sommerová did not finish the first round after a mistake.
