PEOPLE’S MIND – The Event Horizon Telescope has captured the first historic image of black hole supermassive at the center of the galaxy Milky Way.
The image, taken in the light of submillimeter radio waves, confirms that there are black hole in the heart Milky Way which feeds on the hydrogen gas droplets.
A press conference on the historic image was held at the National Science Foundation on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
“Until now, we had no direct picture to prove that a gentle giant was at the center of the galaxy Milky Way this is black hole,” said Feryal zel, an astrophysicist at the University of Arizona Pikiran-Rakyat.com from the Spaces page.
Another astrophysicist, Ryan Hickox of Dartmouth College, said this was a remarkable achievement.
In 2019, the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) made headlines when it managed to show the first images of the event black holespecifically black hole at the center of the active elliptical galaxy Messier 87.
By collecting the same data and time, EHT also makes observations of Sagittarius A*, which is the name for black hole supermasif Milky Way.
