Dubai World Marathon 2024 Promises Surprises and a Car Raffle, Registration Continues

The organizing committee of the 2024 Dubai World Marathon revealed that it will present several surprises in the race that will be held on January 7th, most notably a raffle for a car provided by the Al Ghurair Group.

The organizing committee confirmed in an official statement issued yesterday that “the turnout so far calls for optimism, as the number of participants has so far reached 20,000, and the organizers hope that the number will reach 25,000.”

She indicated that registration through the permanent marathon website, www.dubaimarathon.org, continues until midnight on December 30.

The organizing committee invited Ethiopian legend Haile Gebre Selassie to attend the event in appreciation of his long history with the Dubai Marathon, after he participated in the main race in 16 previous editions.

The organizing committee confirmed in its statement that “the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, for the marathon since its inception gave tremendous impetus to the event and enabled it to continue for nearly a quarter of a century, and the support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, continues to be behind these successive successes of the distinguished event locally, regionally and globally.

The Marathon Organizing Committee praised the support it received from the Dubai Sports Council, led by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Council, and Mattar Al Tayer, Vice President. It also praised the support of Dubai Holding, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Police, Al Ameen Service, Adidas and the Duty Free Shop. In Dubai, Bisleri, IPT Media Group, and Chanel Four are partners in success.

She noted that “there is complete coordination with the Dubai Sports Council, and the Secretary-General, Saeed Hareb, and the Assistant Secretary, Nasser Al Rahma, showed great cooperation.
