The report said that in the past year Dubai received 691,478 health tourists from different countries of the world, the value of their medical spending exceeded one billion and 34 million UAE dirhams ($280.42 million), which is are numbers that are higher than the health tourism numbers in 2022 , when the number of international tourists reached 674 thousand tourists, and the value of their spending: 992 million dirhams.

Indirect revenue from health tourism in Dubai in the past year exceeded two billion and 305 million dirhams, and it clearly contributed to Dubai’s gross domestic product by promotion of aviation, hotel, hospitality, communication and other sectors.

The report – which was based on statistics from the Dubai Digital Authority – revealed that the three most attractive medical specialties for international health tourists are: dentistry, at 29 percent, followed by dermatology, at 27 percent, and gynecology, at 13 percent.

Asian countries were the most popular in dermatology at 33 percent, followed by Arab countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries at 28 percent, and European countries at 23 percent.

In terms of dentistry, the highest demand for it came from Arab countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries at a rate of 48 percent, followed by European countries at a rate of 20 percent, and Asian countries at a rate of 19 percent.

Patients from Asian countries were the most requested to specialize in gynecology, at a rate of 49 percent, followed by European countries, 25 percent, and Arab and Cooperation Council countries. Gulf, 13 percent.

The report revealed that there was a great demand for orthopedic surgery from Arab countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, at 30 percent, followed by Asian countries, 29 percent, and European countries, 24 percent.

Arab countries and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council were the most popular in the specialization of cosmetics, at 43 percent, followed by European countries, 21 percent, and Asian countries, 21 percent .

In ophthalmology, the three regions that most wanted this specialty were: Asian countries with 28 percent, then Arab countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries with 27 percent, and countries European with 21 percent.

In the fertility specialty, Asian countries were the most popular in this specialty, at 36 percent, followed by Arab countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, 22 percent, and European countries, 21 percent.

The three most popular regions for hospitalization and recovery in Dubai were: European countries at 35 percent, followed by Arab countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries at 30 percent, and Asian countries at 21 percent.
