Dubai Readers Event during Ramadan in Dubai: Featuring Famous Reciters from the Islamic World

As part of the “Ramadan in Dubai” campaign 1445 AH, which was launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, with the aim of uniting the efforts of the government and private sectors in celebrating the holy month of Ramadan, and highlighting the festive aspects that adorn In the emirate, the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities organizes the “Dubai Readers” event, which includes a group of famous reciters from the Islamic world.

This year, the department attracts 80 readers from inside and outside the country, to commemorate the nights of Ramadan in Tarawih prayers and night prayers, following the Sunnah of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, by performing the rituals of Tarawih prayers and night prayers, and listening to recitations of the Holy Qur’an with the sweetest and most beautiful voices in the Islamic world.

Jassim Mohammed Al Khazraji, head of the Dubai Readers Team, stated that, based on the directives of Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department, the event will be held in several selected mosques, amounting to 6 main mosques, namely the Mosque of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum in Zabeel, and the Mosque of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum (may God have mercy on him) in Zabeel 1, the Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Mosque (may God have mercy on him) in Al Hudaiba, Al Muhaisnah and Business Bay, and the Sheikha Sanaa bint Mani Al Maktoum Mosque (may God have mercy on her) in Hatta.

The Dubai Readers event gained a good reputation, as some Gulf countries and the Islamic world have begun to adopt the Dubai Readers model, attracting readers from outside and inside the country and from students of the Maktoum Centers for the Holy Qur’an and its Sciences. Among the most prominent reciters from outside the country are: the reader Sheikh Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy, and the reader Sheikh Abdul Rahman. Bin Ibrahim Al-Suwaid, the reciter Sheikh Muhammad Mubarak Al-Faw, and the reciter Sheikh Abdulaziz Suhaim.
