Dubai | Dubai has achieved a top global ranking in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in the cultural and creative industries. This was disclosed by Sheikha Latifah bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and member of Dubai Council.
Dubai excelled in several reports reviewing projects in the cultural and creative industries. It achieved a 107.7 percent increase, surpassing major global cities such as London, Singapore, Paris and Berlin. Shaikha Latifah said Dubai is cementing its position as a hub for exceptional creative talent, a breeding ground for innovation and a preferred destination for investment.
The emirate’s total FDI capital in the cultural and creative industries has risen to AED 7.357 billion in 2022. The city is ranked 1st in the MENA region and 12th globally (up from 14th in 2021). 12,368 jobs have been created through this. Dubai ranks first in the MENA region and sixth globally in job creation through FDI.
The US, India, Switzerland, France and the UK are leading foreign direct investors in Dubai’s cultural and creative industries.
