The United Arab Emirates (UAE) police have replaced their “Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4” supercar with a new Chinese SUV “Hongqi E-HS9”. It is not only the first electric car in the UAE police patrol fleet, but also the first car produced in China. However, Dubai police do not plan to electrify the authority’s entire fleet of vehicles.

As Major General Khalil Al Mansuri told the media, the Dubai police “always strive to replenish its fleet with new and efficient car models.” The Hongqi E-HS9 electric all-terrain vehicle “will improve the work of the traffic police and help achieve strategic objectives in traffic safety monitoring.”
The electric “Hongqi E-HS9”, which is the flagship of this Chinese brand, develops 551 horsepower and accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds – rather impressive dynamic characteristics for a huge all-terrain vehicle. It lags behind the previously used 2011 “Lamborghini” supercar, which develops 700 hp and accelerates to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds.
Apparently, the 10-year-old “Lamborghini” had already served his life. However, the UAE police fleet still has various exclusive and very expensive supercars, such as the Bugatti Veyron and the Aston Martin One-77. The new “Hongqi E-HS9”, comparable in size to the “BMW X7”, costs about 100 thousand euros.
“Hangqi” is the luxury brand of the Chinese company FAW, which entered the UAE market three years ago.
