Dubai Open Tennis Academies Championship: A Platform for Discovering and Nurturing Tennis Talents

The Dubai Sports Council announced the launch of the “Dubai Open Tennis Academies Championship”, in cooperation with the Sania Mirza Game Academy, and attracts more than 400 talented tennis players and players. The participants in the tournament compete in seven different categories for both sexes: under 12, 14 and 18 years old, and in singles and doubles tournaments. The first season of the tournament will run from October 28, 2023 to January 14, 2024, while the second season will take place from September 5, 2024 to January 11, 2025.

This came during a press conference held yesterday at the headquarters of the Dubai Sports Council, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council, Saeed Hareb, the Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, Nasser Aman Al Rahma, and a member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Tennis Federation, Alia Bujsim. Saeed Hareb stressed that the Dubai Championship is a pioneering initiative to attract and discover talented people and develop their skills, and contributes to motivating and encouraging athletes to develop their careers in the field of sports.

Saeed Hareb said: “The Dubai Sports Council is keen to support such pioneering initiatives, as talented people represent the main pillar of the future. Sports and physical activity. For her part, Sania Mirza, “tournament ambassador”, confirmed: “This initiative is a historic moment for the world of tennis in Dubai and shows the city’s unwavering commitment to promoting and nurturing tennis talents.”

She added, “I will supervise the tournament competitions to select the best national talents and include them in the Emirati talent development program that I am working on, and then work to guide them and provide them with the necessary support and training to compete and reach international podiums, in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council and the Emirates Tennis Federation, so that this cooperation will be a strength.” A great dedicate to nurturing and discovering tennis talents in Dubai.
