Dubai Metro Blue Line Officially Approved; It will open in 2029

Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, approved the Dubai Metro Blue Line. Sheikh Mohammed noted on X-Platform (old Twitter) that the new line will serve 320,000 passengers a day. The tender process will be completed this year and it will be fully operational in 2029. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will open the tender and award the contract next year. The drilling work of the underground passage is scheduled for 2025. It is also expected that the test trip can be conducted in 2028.
