Dubai International Chamber strengthens cooperation with Serbia by organizing 180 business meetings

The Dubai International Chamber, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, hosted 180 bilateral business meetings between Dubai companies and their counterparts in the Serbian capital, Belgrade.

This came through the first phase of the trade mission led by the Chamber to Serbia and Turkey within the framework of the initiative “New Horizons for Foreign Expansion”, through which the Chamber aims to support to give the expansion of local companies to global markets, which is characterized by a promising perspective and opportunities.

Representatives from 13 private sector companies in Dubai participated in the mission, specializing in various sectors, including IT and electronic commerce, food and beverages, pipe products, brand protection solutions, retail, apparel , energy and mobility solutions.
Among the activities of the trade mission was the Dubai International Chamber organizing a business forum in Belgrade, entitled “Doing Business with Serbia,” with the support of the UAE Embassy in Belgrade and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The forum saw speeches by His Excellency Ahmed Hatem Al Menhali, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, and His Excellency Adriana Mesarovic, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Serbia, and the presence of 208 participants, including senior executives, business leaders, and Serbian companies interested in exploring partnership opportunities with members of the chamber’s delegation.
During the activity of the forum, Dubai Chambers concluded a memorandum of understanding with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Dubai companies and their Serbian counterparts, as well as organizing trade missions, conferences and business events, to share experiences. and knowledge, which contribute to achieving mutual benefits and driving the wheel of growth and innovation.

The memorandum of understanding specified the exchange of information, consultations, and opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the fields of business and investment policies.
His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, said: “We want to contribute effectively to strengthening Dubai’s trade and investment relations with countries around the world, and the operation of this trade mission comes within the framework of our ongoing efforts. to open doors of promising opportunities for companies operating in Dubai to expand and develop their business and partnerships in the markets.” “Promising projects, including Serbia, will contribute to the growth of the emirate’s foreign trade and increase its position as a global business capital.”
The value of Dubai’s non-oil trade with Serbia will reach 233.9 million dirhams in 2023, according to Dubai Customs data, while the number of active Serbian companies registered as members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce reached 202 companies by the end of the first half of this year, while the chamber registered 39 Serbian companies as new members in this period.
During his participation in the Business Forum, Hassan Al Hashemi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, gave a comprehensive introductory presentation on Dubai’s economic landscape, and reviewed its competitive advantages the emirate offers to companies and investors.
A discussion session was held with several experts in the most prominent economic sectors in Serbia.

The session discussed the methods, requirements and methods of doing business in Serbia, where the speakers provided their knowledge in local business areas.
