The Women’s Committee at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) plays an important role in achieving the Authority’s strategic objectives in terms of providing a stimulating work environment that achieves a balance between the work and social lives of female employees, by providing the capabilities that help them continue their educational attainment and acquire knowledge and experiences that enhance their job and family skills. At various levels, in order to enhance their capabilities to support ambitious national plans.

Over the past three years, the Authority has provided thousands of training opportunities for its female employees, and during the year 2023, the Women’s Committee organized more than 50 workshops and community, professional and specialized events, in which more than 1,000 female employees participated. The Committee also received 4 delegations during benchmarking visits to learn about the best practices adopted by the Committee. Through the “Lighting” initiative, the Women’s Committee highlighted the achievements of 10 of the Authority’s female employees who achieved major achievements at the local and global levels. The female employees also participated in many volunteer work, and the total volunteer hours of the Authority’s female employees during the past year reached more than 16,000 hours in 28 initiatives. Fatima Muhammad Al-Joker, Chair of the Committee, indicated that the Committee, with the guidance and support of the Authority’s senior management, aims, through organizing various social activities and events throughout the year, to create an effective and sustainable positive impact on female employees to consolidate the bonds of mutual cooperation between them.
