Dubai DEWA Sets New World Records at Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) achieved two new records at the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park”; This is about the “highest concentrated solar energy tower” in the world, with a height of 263,126 meters, and the “largest thermal energy storage capacity” in the world, with a capacity of 5,907 megawatt hours, using concentrated solar energy using parabolic reflector technology and molten salt.

Two new records were set for the fourth phase of the complex, which has a production capacity of 950 megawatts, using “concentrated solar energy” and “solar photovoltaic” technologies.

The Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, received the two certificates from representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records. This took place during the activities of the 28th session of the Climate Conference of the Parties, which was recently hosted by the UAE.

Al Tayer said: “We are proud of this new global recognition, which highlights the authority’s leadership and excellence. The fourth phase of the complex supports our efforts in the field of energy storage. It has a storage capacity of 15 hours, which allows solar energy to be available around the clock.” He added: “We continue the path of excellence and leadership in all fields and at all levels, and the authority’s record is full of prestigious awards, and it is a translation of its tireless efforts that aspire to reach number (1) in all fields, and we are moving with confident steps towards building a sustainable future.”
