The Dubai Cycling Challenge, the largest event for cycling enthusiasts and professionals in the city, sponsored by the DB World Group, returns for its fourth session, with the participation of thousands of fans of this sport of all ages and experiences on Sunday, November 12th.
The Dubai Cycling Challenge is one of the most popular and distinguished events within the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, in 2017 as an initiative aimed at transforming Dubai into one of the The most active cities in the world. Last year’s edition of the Cycling Challenge witnessed the participation of 34,897 cyclists as part of their commitment within the “Dubai Fitness Challenge” to exercise for 30 minutes a day for 30 consecutive days.
During the challenge, Sheikh Zayed Road, which is one of the most important main roads in Dubai, will be transformed, with the support of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, into a huge path open for cycling, allowing families and amateur and professional riders, regardless of their cycling experience or level. The challenge will provide two tracks suitable for all levels, as the Sheikh Zayed Road track will be ideal for the most experienced riders, with a length of 12 kilometers and extending from the Dubai World Trade Center to Al Safa Park, passing through the Dubai Canal Bridge with its distinctive view. This track also includes five different starting points, which are: Museum Al Mustaqbal, Satwa Area, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay, and DIFC Lower Road. As for the second path, it is the family path, and it is four kilometers long, passing through the city center along Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and its important landmarks, including “Dubai Mall,” “Dubai Opera,” and “Burj Khalifa.” This path starts from “Dubai Mall.” , an easy trail intended for families and children to participate.
