Dubai Customs held an extensive meeting with the General Department of Drug Control in Dubai Police, in the presence of representatives from the customs inspection sector, the Customs Intelligence Department, and the Customs Training Center in the department, in the framework of strengthening joint strategic cooperation to combat drug smuggling.
The meeting dealt with enhancing cooperation in raising the competencies of inspection cadres by identifying modern methods of contraband smuggling methods.
Mohammed Al-Ghafari, Executive Director of the Human Resources Sector at Dubai Customs, said: “We have goals and action plans for joint training to confront smugglers, reveal their tricks, and thwart their plans, by raising the efficiency of the human cadre so that they can continue their role in confronting illegal smuggling attempts through the emirate’s customs outlets.
For his part, Brigadier General Khalid bin Moeza, Deputy Director of the General Department for Drug Control in Dubai Police, affirmed the superior capabilities and advanced methods enjoyed by the department in presenting its experience in detecting smugglers to the relevant authorities.
