Dubai Culture Extends Deadline for ‘Burj Rashid’ Exhibition Until April 30th – Celebrating the 45th Anniversary

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) announced that it has extended the date of the open invitation, which it launched in cooperation with the Dubai World Trade Center, to participate in the “Burj Rashid” exhibition, until April 30.

She pointed out that the extension comes with the aim of providing the opportunity for all artists, practitioners and architects, citizens and residents of the country, to present their works and contributions inspired by the tower, which chronicles Dubai’s urban renaissance and the evolution of its long development path, as Rashid Tower continues to this day to perform its function as a vital business center. Commercial and economic, making it a testament to Dubai’s ability to adapt to modern changes.

Artists and practitioners in the fields of visual, digital, literary and design arts, whether they work individually or in groups, can participate through one or more works in the “Burj Rashid” exhibition, which is organized by “Dubai Culture” with the support of “Sikka Platform”, in celebration of the 45th anniversary. To establish the tower, which reflects the vision of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may God have mercy on him, aiming to transform Dubai into a major center for business, communication and trade in the region.

It is noteworthy that Burj Rashid is the first skyscraper built in Dubai, completed in 1979, and designed by British architect John R. Harris & Partners, and formed the nucleus for the establishment of the Dubai World Trade Centre, the prominent destination for holding events, exhibitions and conferences in the emirate. The height of the tower, which for two decades has remained the tallest building in the region, reaches 149 metres, and the Rashid Tower still adorns the 100 dirham note. It is symbolic of Dubai’s growth, ambitions and future aspirations.
