Dubai Cruise Ships: A Growing Industry and Top Cruise Destination

Dubai continues to work actively with leading cruise operators MSC Cruises, TUI Cruises, Aida Cruises, Costa Cruises and Ponant Cruises, who choose it as their home port. The city also plans to host cruise ships from Cunard, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruises, Silversea Cruises and Cordelia Cruises.

Outstanding success in the cruise industry

The cruise shipping industry in Dubai has achieved considerable success in recent years, strengthening its global leadership position. In 2023, Dubai’s Port Rashid, also known as Mina Rashida, was recognized as the Middle East’s Best Cruise Port by the World Travel Awards and in 2021 it won the title of Best New Cruise Port at the first annual World Cruise Awards.

Sustainability is a top priority for Dubai. The emirate actively supports the operation of high-tech cruise ships powered by liquefied natural gas, such as MSC World Europa and Costa Toscana.

In the last cruise year, the Dubai Port Terminal served 300,000 passengers, which is almost 4 times more than in the first cruise season. The number of ship visits increased by 40% compared to the previous year. As the largest cruise port in the region, we are pleased to contribute to the dynamic development of maritime tourism, providing passengers with an unparalleled travel experience,” comments Abdulla Binhabtoor, director of portfolio management at Shamal Holding, owner and curator of Dubai Port.
