Duarte and his family moved into a house in Jávea (Alicante), but a week after moving in, a spider ruined their new life. This young man was in bed when he was bitten by a brown recluse spider, a species that can be deadly.
At first he didn’t give it much thought, but when he saw that his arm was swelling he went to the health centre, where they injected him with antibiotics. However, the days went by and the pain was unbearable.
At that time, Duarte was admitted to the hospital and, after several tests, they decided to operate on him. The poison was still in his body and they had to stop it from reaching his bones. Recovery was slow and he had to stay in the hospital for a month.

Three months have passed since the bite and Duarte has not left the house since then and has mobility problems. He is also unable to work and has been left traumatised.
