With the resumption of classes, Duanell Film School welcomes new participants in junior, youth and adult groups. Already in the fifth season, in the “Kino Bize” cinema, industry professionals lead thematic lecture cycles, intended for interested parties, regardless of prior knowledge. This time, in 8 lessons, young people will have the opportunity to get to know the wide range of film genres, while adults will be introduced to 5 films important in the history of cinema. On the other hand, the newly founded junior school will offer to get acquainted with the world of cinema in practical filmmaking master classes. Applications are open until January 21.
The “Cinema Genres” lecture for young people by six knowledgeable and passionate instructors consists of eight lectures that will focus in depth on a wide range of film genres, from comedy, gangster films and musicals to science fiction and horror. The topic of genres has been chosen because it gives an opportunity to look into different stages of the development of cinema history, to highlight various common and different features of films, to pay attention to the style of films and their production techniques.
The purpose of the adult group lecture is to stop and really dig into one, that is, a total of five films that are significant in the history of cinema. Each lecturer has chosen one important film, and their diversity shows the inexhaustible possibilities of cinema.
Participants of the Junior Film School will be offered the opportunity to experience different roles of film professions, try creating a soundtrack for a film and learn the basics of lighting, as well as create their own animation. The purpose of the classes led by young film professionals is to introduce the beginnings and basic elements of filmmaking in an exciting way, to interest children in a wider exploration of the world of cinema. The classes will take place in the format of workshops, allowing you to try the filmmaking process yourself.
The lectures will take place on weekday evenings in the cozy premises of the “Kino Bize” cinema at Elizabetes street 37. In addition to theoretical lessons, joint film screenings will also be organized for the participants.
Applications for the film school are open until January 21. Participants with and without prior knowledge are welcome.
