The American justice suspects Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, who was arrested on Friday, of the murder of Tupac Shakur. Las Vegas police say it’s “the charge we’ve been waiting for for almost 30 years.”

Davis was arrested without incident on Friday morning (local time) in Henderson, a suburb of Las Vegas. The arrest is seen as a breakthrough in the 27-year-old murder case.

Police searched a home linked to Davis last summer. Davis was reportedly involved with the South Side Compton Crips gang. During the search of his home, magazine articles about Tupac and his death were found, among other things.

During the hearing on Friday morning, Davis was told the charges. Prosecutors say Davis is the one who ordered Tupac’s murder.

Davis may have been in a car with the suspected perpetrator

Davis was said to have been interrogated earlier, because he was possibly in the car with the suspected perpetrator. In interviews and in the book published in 2019 Compton Street Legend he said he was in the Cadillac from which Tupac was shot.

Davis claims to be one of two living witnesses to Tupac’s murder. That would be according to ABC News evidenced by a police search warrant.

Las Vegas police are expected to hold a news conference later on Friday.

Shakur, also known as 2Pac, died in September 1996 at the age of 25 after being shot from a car. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest rappers ever with hits such as Changes, Dear Mama in California Love.
