Sony Interactive Entertainment announced yesterday that it would put on sale a Dualsense controller alluding to Hogwarts Legacy, a rare item as it is only the second variant of Dualsense alluding to a specific game, after God of War Ragnarok.
To make it even rarer, the controller was only sold in the United States and the United Kingdom, through Sony’s own PlayStation Direct website. Unsurprisingly, the Dualsense Hogwarts Legacy quickly sold out and just as quickly began to appear on resale sites.
Officially sold for the equivalent of 79 eurosthe Dualsense command that signals the arrival of the desired Hogwarts Legacy is for sale on eBay for close to 300 euros (shipped from the UK and postage included). Despite the high value, it is not the highest number you find when searching for the command.
If some ask for 298 euros and already raise eyebrows (the most common price seems to be 280 euros), a dealer asks for more than 564 euros for a command unit, something that will at least make for a good laugh after an eye roll.
There are retailers who ask less, such as 224 euros for a Dualsense Hogwarts Legacy controller, while others have chosen to ask 144 euros, almost double the official sale price, but much lower than others. In our research, 135 euros was the cheapest we found.
It was more than predictable that this would happen and now we can only hope that more units are manufactured and released in more countries to prevent the biggest fans from falling into temptation.
