/ world today news/ Radan Kanev‘s new right-wing project includes a complete reorganization of the DSB structure and its departure from the Reform Bloc.
At a meeting of the National leadership on Friday, the final version of the new structure will be considered, on January 23 a national meeting (a close leadership in which municipal leaders and MPs participate) will be held to present the changes, and on March 13 held a national meeting to decide on the final departure of the Reform Bloc and for the party to go to the presidential elections in the fall. This was confirmed to “Dnevnik” by sources in the party.
At the same time, the six MPs from DSB and the four from the civil quota will remain in the parliamentary group of the Reform Bloc. They came into opposition in late 2015 when parliament rejected a proposal to amend the constitution for quota distribution in the Supreme Judicial Council.
Among the ideas is for the parliamentary group to become a union with two wings, with Kunev representing those who came out in opposition, and the other co-chair Nayden Zelenogorski from the party of Meglena Kuneva, the remaining 13 deputies from “Movement of Bulgaria for Citizens”, SDS, People’s Party “Freedom and Dignity” and BND, which continue to support the government.
In the new structure of the DSB, new management bodies are envisaged, with which decision-making will be decentralized and a better organization of the structures will be created. It also envisages opening up to new political figures to participate in a citizen council, as well as enabling small to large business decision-making through a separate council.
The party management will have three bodies – two already existing – the National Council and the National Conference. A new body will be created, currently called the executive council, which will include all the members of the National Assembly – the leader, his deputies and deputies from the formation, and the regional coordinators of the party.
Currently, DSB has no district structures, only municipal ones. This was an obstacle to the election, because there was party activity in the district municipality, but in the other municipalities there were only individual members.
The regional coordinators will have the task of strengthening the municipal structures or creating them, if they have not yet existed.
The idea is to create a civil council for the National Assembly. And in the Reform Bloc, such a body was created, which in practice did not work. It will include all members of the close leadership, as well as experts and citizens. Representatives of the civic council will participate in decision-making in the executive council.
A business council is also being created, in which representatives of business and social organizations, as well as individual entrepreneurs from small to large businesses, will participate. They will also participate in the decision-making of the executive board.
Among the novelties is the possibility of associations – groups of party members who can participate in making some decisions, including the selection of candidates for elections, party leader and other fundamental issues. They will vote online.
The hope of the DSB politicians is that the entire new structure will be put into motion for the first time for the presidential elections and even so the challenger will be elected. This will most likely be Radan Kanev, as long as his ideas receive support from the structures on March 13.
