“We have very carefully discussed the whole situation, we have not approached it irresponsibly and here the question is about the Bulgarian national interest”. This is how the DSB leader and co-chairman of PP-DB PG Atanas Atanasov commented in the studio of the program “Speak Now” about the decision to lift the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain.
“I think that not only ordinary citizens in Bulgaria, but also grain producers and traders have an interest in the war stopping in Ukraine. I understand that they have calculated some profits that they want to get and now maybe they won’t get them as much big. But we must also show solidarity,” explained Atanasov.
According to him, the government cannot agree to all their demands. “I understand that the prime minister is nervous about the whole situation, whether they are terrorists, there is such an expression, those who issue ultimatums are not negotiated”, explained Atanas Atanasov.
According to him, the import of Ukrainian products suppresses inflation and keeps prices from rising.
