The new DS flagship made in China offers a choice of three engines, two of which are plug-in hybrids.

The French premium brand DS is finally launching the announced large sedan 9 since last year. The brand’s new flagship thus reveals Czech prices, starting at CZK 1,325,000 for a 1.6 PureTech petrol engine (165 kW), combined with an eight-speed automatic.
The supercharged 16-liter engine is also the only conventional engine in the offer of this 4,934 mm long sedan. Furthermore, there are only two plug-in hybrids available, both also with a petrol one six under the hood. The E-Tense 225 version offers a combined output of 165 kW and starts at CZK 1,525,000. The top E-Tense 360 4×4 with all-wheel drive and a combined output of 265 kW then starts at 1,775,000 crowns.

The basic equipment of the Performance Line is already rich, as is appropriate for a luxury model. Includes keyless entry, six airbags, cruise control, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, reversing parking camera, multimedia system including navigation or digital instrument panel.
There are also upholstery combining leather and Alcantara, electrically operated front seats with heating and driver’s memory, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, adaptive LED headlights or 19 “alloy wheels.

The second degree is called Rivoli and a round 100,000 crowns are paid for it. In exchange for this amount, you get active lane keeping, adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, a 360 ° parking camera or leather upholstery. There are also ventilated front seats with massage function, ambient lighting, active DS Scan Suspension chassis or wireless charging of smartphones.
However, the equipment can be extended beyond this variant. A special package for 150,000 crowns includes Nappa leather upholstery, including the dashboard, a button to move the front passenger seat accessible from the rear seats or a sunroof with an electrically operated sun visor. You can also pay extra for night vision (+40,000 CZK for the Rivoli version), heated windshield (+ 6,000, -) or the Focal Electra music system with 14 speakers and a subwoofer with an output of 515 W (+ 40,000, -).
DS 9 first appeared to the world at the beginning of 2020 – the world premiere was planned for last year’s Geneva Motor Show, which was canceled due to the onset of a coronavirus pandemic. The car was the first to be sold on the Chinese market, which is an important market for DS. In China, the car is even manufactured for Europe.
