Dry race with a golden edge

For the first time in history, the Formula 1 circus descends on Qatar and the kick-off of the highest motorsport class in the rich oil state is immediately put in the spotlight. It stays dry and during the day it is also sunny. The qualifying and race will be held in the dark, but before that the sunset gives a festive golden edge to usher in the racing spectacle.

The drivers can count on the perfect preparation for the race on Sunday. The weather is almost identical on all days of this race weekend. During the free practice sessions on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the race itself on Sunday it will be almost cloudless and it will remain dry. The temperature rises to 28 to 30 degrees during the hottest time of the day. Fortunately, the qualifying and race coincide with the Qatari afternoon and evening, so that it cools down a bit at those moments. Around 6 pm in Qatar, which is 4 pm with us, it is about 26 degrees.

Sand in the engine

During races in the Middle East, sandstorms can do a lot of work, but fortunately that is not the case this weekend. The wind comes from the sea and that means that the air that blows over the circuit is quite clean. High in the air there is a lot of dust, but that does not bother the drivers. That dust gives a golden edge to the sunset before the race, which turns a beautiful orange during the last hours of the afternoon.
