Drupa Centre, the home for women’s art in the Mansuè countryside, is increasingly becoming an international point of reference for the art world. The residency of the Scottish dancer Boston Gallacher, who arrived in the Marche last weekend, will end on Saturday 9 November.
Originally from Glasgow, Gallacher is a guest of Drupa Center after having been one of the leading dancers of the Nederlands Dans Theater in Holland for years. In 2020 he received the prestigious Piket Art Prize for dance, an award dedicated to young artists. In his career he has already collaborated with choreographers and companies of the caliber of Yoann Bourgeois, Damien Jalet, Marco Goeke, Marina Mascarell and Peeping Tom. His last day of residency at Drupa Center on Saturday 9 November will be a big party open to the public who will be able to meet and get to know the Scottish artist in person. From 2pm to 5pm Gallacher will lead an improvisation workshop to discover the “infinite capabilities of the dancing body” before the grand finale scheduled for the evening.
Secret dance hall
The highlight of the day will begin at 7pm when Drupa Center will be transformed into an unprecedented “Secret Dance Hall”. Gallacher will present a performance never seen before wearing the clothes and creations of “Lessico Familiare”, a Milanese brand in constant evolution and research. The fashion house’s disassembled and reassembled patchwork garments will meet the fluidity and magnetism of Gallacher’s movement in a show that promises to be full of surprises. The event will be held in a new location in Drupa Centre, open to the public for the first time, making the experience even more engaging. “Balera Segreta” will be reserved for a maximum of 30 members and includes a donation of 15 euros to support the evening, a price which includes the aperitif with the artist. It will be possible to join on the same evening of the event at Drupa Center or by signing up at the following link.
