Police in Smolyan caught a drunken bus driver this morning minutes before he left with 47 third-graders on an excursion. During the check, the dragger reported 0.66 per milliliter of alcohol.
The students and their parents were disappointed by the failed excursion to Sofia, which was their first in school life.
After an hour, a backup driver was dispatched. It turned out that the bus was broken down.
According to the director of the OU “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” Nikolay Kolev the school is not to blame for the failed excursion and will seek compensation from the company that organized the event.
