A 43-year-old woman was driving in Steppach on Friday afternoon. She got behind the wheel while completely drunk. This was not without consequences.

The woman from Augsburg was driving her car on Ulmer Strasse in Steppach. Her car crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with an oncoming cyclist. The cyclist fell, but was not injured according to the police. No damage was caused either.

A man in Steppach honked his horn – but a collision still occurred

According to the police, the person who caused the accident continued driving undeterred. As she drove towards a car in the opposite lane, the driver honked – but he was unable to prevent a collision. The two cars collided and had to be towed away with significant damage. No one was injured. The police estimate the total damage at around 16,000 euros.

When the accident was recorded, the officers suspected that the 43-year-old was drunk. A breathalyzer test showed a value of around 2.5 per mille. A blood sample was therefore taken from the person who caused the accident and her driver’s license was confiscated. She is expected to be charged with endangering road traffic due to alcohol. (AZ)
