The police officers were on Valentin-Becker-Strasse around 9:50 a.m. when they noticed two men, aged 30 and 21, in an apartment building there, who could be seen at an open window and who were apparently heavily intoxicated.

According to the situation, the 30-year-old then pointed a threatening weapon in the direction of the officers with a weapon that looked real from a distance. The police subsequently called in additional patrols from the Würzburg police and gained access to the apartment where the men were. On the one hand, it turned out that the two people were significantly under the influence of alcohol and, on the other hand, that the weapon was a harmless toy revolver.

The officers initially arrested the men temporarily and took them to the police station. There they had to undergo a blood sample. After completing the necessary police measures, they were released again.

Criminal proceedings were initially initiated against the two men for threats. During the course of the initial investigation, it was suspected that the men may have targeted a visitor to the nearby “Shalom Europa” community center with the toy gun.

At the moment it cannot be assumed that this has an anti-Semitic background. The Würzburg criminal police nevertheless took over the further investigation. pole
