Drunk man stands with car across A58 near Roosendaal | Inland

Witnesses reported that on the A58 near Roosendaal, at the exit to the Antwerpseweg, they suddenly had to avoid a passenger car that was right on the road.

Officers arrived and saw the driver running away from the vehicle. The man climbed over a wall and over a fence and fell in a ditch. The man was able to climb out of the ditch on his own and was arrested by the officers.

The suspect has been transferred to the police station. There it turned out that he had drunk too much. The man had to hand in his driver’s license and was banned from driving for eight hours.

Damage

The officers started an investigation into the damage the man is said to have caused. About 200 meters from where the car was found, the officers saw a damaged guardrail. The bumper of the car the man had driven into was near the crash barrier. The damage has been reported to Rijkswaterstaat.
