Drunk man hit a tree with his car: passenger injured

On Saturday around 7:30 p.m. there was a serious traffic accident on Salzachtal Straße B 159. At the height of the motorway entrance in Kuchl, a 36-year-old driver who, according to him, had to avoid an unknown vehicle, lost control of his car and crashed into a tree trunk.
According to the police, the driver was able to free himself from the vehicle; his 33-year-old passenger had to be rescued from the car by the volunteers of the Kuchl volunteer fire department.
An alkomate test carried out on the handlebars showed a value of 1.16 per thousand. The driver’s license was taken from the 36-year-old. Both people received initial care from the emergency doctor on site and were brought to the UKH Salzburg with injuries of an undetermined degree.
