Drunk Hispanic man is arrested after crashing and trying to go down the stairs with his vehicle in a NYC subway station – El Diario NY

A man driving a pickup truck under the influence was arrested after crashing into the entrance to the Washington Heights Metro station.the authorities reported.

Identified as Miguel Delacruz-Martinez25 years old, was driving near Broadway and W. 157th Street around 9:15 in the morning when his black Nissan Rogue ran onto the sidewalkofficials said.

He continued driving along the sidewalk towards the stairs that led to the station. from 157th Street to take the No. 1 train, witnesses told the police.

The front of the SUV descended a few steps before getting stuck in the driveway. from the subway station, reported Daily News.

Officers captured Delacruz-Martínez without incident.was wearing a woolen cap and a gold chain, the criminal, who lives nearby, I was smiling while sitting in the back of an ambulance when he was being checked by paramedics.

On the other hand, Emergency Services Unit agents of the New York Police Department arrived at the scene to remove the trapped truck from the ladder.

The Hispanic man’s truck had a sticker of an NYPD patch on the windshield.

According to DMV records, the truck had received three parking citations since Sept. 27, including a parking violation on Broadway on Nov. 14, which was just six blocks from where the incident occurred.

Until now It was not clear how the driver ended up on the sidewalk or if he was really trying to drive the truck down the stairs..

No injuries were reported at the scene. Delacruz-Martinez was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless endangerment.NYPD noted.
