A traffic accident occurred on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at a crossroads on the Bordeaux road, west of Montauban, in Tarn-et-Garonne. The collision took place around 1:30 a.m.
Two people were involved: a 29-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. The latter was injured in the accident. The firefighters, who were called, gave her first aid before taking her by road for further examinations at the Montauban hospital.
Before that, the national police, who arrived on the scene to secure the premises, subjected her to an alcohol test which turned out to be negative. The doctors prescribed the young woman a total work interruption (ITT) of one day.
1.36 grams of alcohol in the blood
After checking the condition of the first victim, the police turned their attention to the profile of the second driver. The 29-year-old man, who was not injured, was subjected to the same breathalyzer test, but the result was different: he was in fact positive, with a blood alcohol level of 0.68 mg, or 1.36 grams of alcohol in the blood. His license was immediately administratively withdrawn. After sobering up, in police custody, he admitted the facts.
Once back from the hospital, the victim is interviewed, stating that the man refused to give her priority. The magistrate on duty at the public prosecutor’s office summons the 29-year-old accused before the prosecutor’s delegate on September 11, 2024.
