A 25-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with drunk driving and negligent homicide.

She stepped on the brakes far too late, and the tragedy was a fact. The golf cart the victims were driving in had its lights on, and was driving legally on the stretch according to AP.

Aric Hutchinson’s mother, Annette, has set up a fundraiser to cover the costs of her son’s hospital stay and her daughter-in-law’s funeral.

– I received Aric’s wedding ring in a plastic bag at the hospital, five hours after Samantha had put it on his finger and the two had made their marriage vows. Aric has lost the great love of his life, she writes.

She writes that her son has serious injuries and will need a long time in hospital.
