Bayern central defender Benjamin Pavard caused an alcohol scandal. The Frenchman had to give up his driving license.
About six weeks ago, the right-back serving the German series champion was caught drunk at the wheel, reports German “Bild”. Pavard was stopped by the police after a Bayern home game. Alcohol was found in the 26-year-old’s blood.
According to the report, it should have been significantly more than 0.8 per thousand of blood alcohol. In any case, in Flensburg there is a one-month driving ban, a fine of 500 euros and two points. Starting from a value of 1.1 per thousand, the license can also be revoked for a maximum of six months.
However, those weren’t the only penalties for the 2018 world champion. Because Pavard also had to report to sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic and was fined a five-figure sum as a result. After all, the 26-year-old didn’t have to take the bus, a Bayern driver recently took the Frenchman to train.
The versatile defender has already played 17 competitive matches for Bayern Munich this season, scoring three goals.
