Actress Kim Sae-ron (23), who is suspected of causing an accident while driving while intoxicated, attended the first trial.
On the 8th, Seoul Central District Court Criminal 4th Judge Lee Hwan-gi held the first trial date for Mr. Kim, who was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act (drinking driving), and fellow passenger A, who was also charged with aiding and abetting drunk driving, from 10 am.
Mr. Kim, who arrived at the court at around 9:50 am on the same day, did not answer any questions from the reporters, such as ‘Do you sincerely apologize? Chae headed to court.
Mr. Kim was put on trial for causing an accident on May 18 last year at around 8:00 am driving his car at the Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, by hitting a street tree and a transformer several times.
Immediately after the accident, Mr. Kim refused to measure the blood alcohol level of the police, and the police proceeded to draw blood at a nearby hospital.
As a result of blood analysis by the National Institute of Scientific Investigation, Mr. Kim’s blood alcohol level was found to be 0.2%, far above the license revocation level (0.08%).
As a result of the accident, the Sinsa-dong area suffered power outages for about 4 hours and 30 minutes, and about 50 nearby shopping malls were also damaged.
Afterwards, Mr. Kim’s side visited the damaged mall and paid compensation along with an apology.
Later, in a handwritten apology, Mr. Kim said, “I have caused harm to too many people. I should have acted more cautiously and responsibly, but I couldn’t,” he said. “I sincerely apologize. We will do our best to actively resolve it.”
After the accident, Kim did not renew the contract with the agency and stopped activities.
At the time of the accident, a passenger in his 20s also appeared at the trial together on charges of aiding and abetting drunk driving.
Kim debuted as a child actor and appeared in films such as ‘The Man from Nowhere’, ‘Neighbors’, ‘Barbie’ and dramas such as ‘The Queen’s Classroom’ and ‘Witch’s Bogam’.
