A 61-year-old driver was very drunk and drove across the platform at the Ingelheim bus station on Friday evening. This is reported by the Ingelheim police.
The 61-year-old drove into the Ingelheim bus station, left the road and drove over the high curb onto the platform. Waiting passengers had to avoid the car, but it came to a stop on the platform.
The 61-year-old then got out, walked around the car and then got back behind the wheel. He continued his journey towards the city center, where he was stopped by the police who were called. A breath alcohol test on the 61-year-old showed 1.4 per mille. A blood sample was therefore taken from the man at the police station.
The police took away his driver’s license from the 61-year-old. He now faces criminal proceedings for endangering road traffic. His car was so badly damaged while driving on the platform that it had to be towed away.
