The emergency services respond to reports of a traffic accident in Stavanger.

– A Russian bus is involved. The bus has come to an abrupt stop and two people have fallen into the bus. They do not appear seriously injured, the police write.

There were 24 people on the bus, and there were both drunks and parents, says operations manager Victor Fenne-Jensen.

– It was a car that swerved in front and braked suddenly. Then the bus had to brake suddenly and several people were thrown inside the bus. This may appear as a deliberate act. The man who drove in front, a 51-year-old, was drunk and has had his driver’s license confiscated, says Fenne-Jensen.

– The two injured are parents, and it does not appear serious. The man will be reported for violating the Road Traffic Act and for drunk driving. He was measured at a blood alcohol level of 1.

He says the police got a description and stopped the man immediately afterwards.

In an update, the police write on Twitter that the driver of the Russian bus has been banned from use pending an inspection by the Norwegian Road Administration.

– Several of the seat belts in the bus did not work as they should.
