Drummer Alabama Shakes Arrested for Child Abuse | NOW

Drummer Steven William Johnson of the American band Alabama Shakes has been arrested for child abuse, US website reports Deadline. He has to answer to the judge after Easter.

The 35-year-old musician is charged with premeditated assault. He is said to have hit a minor. The drummer is in jail and a bail of $ 21,500 (over 18,000 euros) is requested for his release.

It is not the first time that Johnson has been arrested for violence. In 2020 he was found guilty of domestic violence. For this, he received a one-year suspended sentence with a probationary period of 24 months.

Alabama Shakes has taken a hiatus since 2018 because singer Brittany Howard is busy with her solo career. Her solo album Jaime was released in 2019. At the beginning of this month a remix of her success single was released Stay High.
