Drugs in the car: Raser flees the police from Berlin to Brandenburg and back

According to witness statements, a car driver is said to have fled the police at up to 130 kilometers per hour and disregarded several red lights. On the run he drove in the
Night to Tuesday from Berlin-Lichtenberg to Brandenburg and finally back to Berlin in Dietzgenstrasse, as the police announced.

There he collided with the car of civil investigators who finally arrested him. Nobody got hurt.

Police said the 31-year-old had blood drawn to see if he had used drugs. Initially, no information was given about the result of the blood test. The investigators said they found substances in the car, presumably drugs – they confiscated the car.

The driver is said to have escaped a police check in Neu-Hohenschönhausen by accelerating. In the Mühlenbecker Land north of Berlin, he is said to have rammed a police car at an intersection.

The man is now being investigated for dangerous interference in road traffic, resistance to law enforcement officers and a prohibited motor vehicle race as well as for possession of narcotics.
