According to what has been learned, there are 14 precautionary measures carried out by the Armed Forces military Salerno at dawn today. The investigation concerns a criminal group active in importing in the port of Salerno of cocaine from South America. The 14 suspects are accused of various crimes of criminal association aimed at the international trafficking of narcotic substances, such as cocaine, marijuana and hashish, and various crimes relating to the import and sale of drugs.
The investigating judge of Salerno, at the request of the district anti-mafia directorate, ordered precautionary custody in prison for 11 suspects and home custody for 3. The organization dedicated to drug trafficking was operating in Salerno and its province and was also capable of penetrating “markets” in other regions, including Basilicata and Puglia. The main contacts would be Carmine Memoli e Tiziano Memoliwho would have been supported by their family unit. The two demonstrated, during the investigations, not only that over time they had acquired independent and solid supply channels also from abroad, in particular from Spain, but above all that they were able to deal with leading entities in the international cocaine trafficking, collaborating with them in the exfiltration of loads arriving at the port of Salerno from South America.
During the investigative activities carried out by the Carabinieri, approximately 257 kilograms of cocaine, approximately 7 kilos of hashish and approximately 7.5 kilos of marijuana. Then also seized a modified pistolpotentially lethal.
