(ANSA) – PISA, 06 NOV – A maxi-anti-drug operation coordinated by the DDA of Florence has dismantled an organization that imported drugs into Italy from Ecuador and Colombia. The financial police of Pisa carried out an order from the investigating judge of Florence which led to the arrest in prison of 23 people on Italian territory (Tuscany, Calabria, Lazio, Puglia, Campania, Lombardy, Veneto, Liguria) and abroad (Albania , France, Spain and Romania), another six under house arrest and another under mandatory signature. In total there are 30 personal precautionary measures. The charge is of criminal conspiracy for the purpose of international drug trafficking. The request is from the district anti-mafia prosecutor Luca Tescaroli (now chief prosecutor in Prato). The drugs from South America arrived at the port of Livorno. The arrested people have Italian, Albanian, Romanian and Ukrainian nationalities and are already involved in organized crime, both Italian and Albanian. 200 financiers were employed to carry out the ordinance. The Florentine DDA operated in collaboration with the Special Structure against Corruption and Albanian Organized Crime (SPAK) and with the Ecuadorian Fiscalia General de Estado (Fge), putting together a joint investigative team.
